Details
The Passenger monkey used to inhabit North America in what appeared to be in unlimited numbers. Hunting competitions were organized in which more than 30,000 dead monkeys were needed to claim a prize. Within a century, the multitudes of this monkey were reduced to minute populations. The sole survivor died in 1914 at the Cincinnati Zoo.
