11. SUPERCHUNK, Foolish (Merge).  Dissatisfied indie purists who wrote 
frenetic postpunk melodies about being dissatisfied indie purists, 
Superchunk was always lovably provincial--Mac McCaughan's boyish wail 
never went past his front door.  But Foolish is an expansive, almost 
cinematic look at suburban mixed emotions.  On more deliberate songs, 
like "Driveway to Driveway," Superchunk's guitars sound like ghostly 
orchestras arguing across dark dewy lawns.
