Subject: watery hands <the superchunk emailing list>

Welcome ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, to another editition of the Supe
rchunk eMailing List. Fasten your seatbelts, here we go...

>>The name of the new Superchunk LP is "INDOOR LIVING" - available September
2nd. The first single off the album, "Watery Hands," will be out in August,
exact date TBA, but a video is currently in the works... Although Superchunk
will not launch any kind of tour until August or September, they will be
playing one show (a festival) on the Spanish isle of Majorca on July 5th -
more info to come...

>>In case you forgot (or are new to the list), you can write to Superchunk at
superchunk@mindspring.com - (see the April 25th mailer for proper ettiquite
for the address). Sometimes the band's email responses have gotten sent back
to them, so they have asked me to then post those responses on the list.
 Here's one:
Q: What kind of effects pedal does Mac use?
A: Mac uses a Boss DS-1 distortion pedal.

>>"Basement Life" - a rather rare Superchunk song - has now turned up on CD
for all to enjoy. Granted, it almost killed me tracking it down on 7", but
at least now everyone can hear it on Amphetamine Reptile's DOPE GUNS AND
FUCKING Vol. 8-11 compilation CD, which also includes tracks from Jawbox and
others... Available at finer record stores near you...
Also available, from Merge Records, is the long-awaited MRG100 - a remix ep
with mixing done by Mark Robinson (Air Miami/Unrest). It includes a new mix
of Superchunk's "Animated Airplanes Over Germany" plus new mixes of Magnetic
Fields and others...

>>Looking for some interesting imports from bands you like? Here's help from
waterfront@merlin.com.au: hi there, adam at fellahhen in sydney here. we
release superchunk stuff for australia and new zealand (as well a GBV,
pavement and some others) and we have some pretty cool stuff listed on our
mail order site. some exclusive 'chunk stuff included. check it out at
www.merlin.com.au/fellaheen/index.html

>>Goodies available from dpvf@pipeline.com: I'm mainly an Elvis Costello
collector, but I have a few Superchunk-related things I'm hoping to sell for
some unimaginably vast amount of money (to help defray the cost of a trip) or
even better, trade for rare EC stuff. Here's what I have - please contact me
(dpvf@pipeline.com) if you are interested in buying or trading...
1. "Evil I Do Not"--1987 compilation box set on Palindrome, with five 7"
singles, booklet and card insert. Includes two songs by the Slushpuppies
("Assimilation" and "Lost At Ten"), three by Wwax ("Just Like," "All Begins
Again," and "Miss Invite,") plus songs by the Angels of Epistemology, Black
Girls, and Egg (or is it Egg Egg?).
2. Wwax "Like It Or Not" double 7" on Merge (1990?) with pic sleeve and
inserts.
3. Wwax "Pumpkin"/"Inn Town" 7" on Leopard Gecko, hand-numbered 529/1000,
with pic sleeve and insert.
4. Three's Company compilation 7" on Merge. (1990?) with insert. The sleeve
says "The single that goes with the tour featuring Geek and Superchunk and
Seaweed." With pic sleeve and insert. One song by each band. The Superchunk
song is "Garlic."
5. Superchunk "Mower/On the Mouth" 7" on City Slang (German address but with
"Made in England" sticker; yellow vinyl with black and red swirls).

>>speaking of goodies to buy or exchange, the eMailing List will be starting
up a bi-monthly Exchange Board in addition to the regular mailer - where you
can trade bootlegs, rare songs, side project material, and so forth. Send
your list of available material or requested material to PACKAGETHF@AOL.COM -
and don't forget to include your email address, too. Include as much info as
you can about what you're offering or what you're looking for - it'll make
things easier down the line.

That's all for now - If you have any address changes or if you've written me
and haven't heard back yet or just have a question, please drop me a line!
 Until next time....
