This is more or less what I've been seeing on and off for the last couple of days. Eva has been the good little fan watching the Blazers battle the evil Lakers and I've been rooting along for fun. It was a really sad experience to watch game 7 and listen to the announcers talk about the Portland Trailblazers like they were merely a foil, a scripted obstable, for Shaq and his supporting actors to battle with and then trounce. Nearly everything mentioned was relative to the Lakers and most of that was relative to Shaq. Sigh. As could be expected, Portland played well then were hit with a bunch of really crappy and one-sided fouls, then played like crap, and then lost. The Blazers couldn't be allowed to win--who would want to watch Indiana vs Portland? Not very sexy, and not nearly as much revenue for the NBA.
