The studio is all set up and I have begun painting again finally. I will post pics of the studio and the paintings tomorrow.
I’m feeling a lot better recently although still a little out of sorts and a little funky. I think I’m finally getting my head back together. Maybe that seems silly. Like I should have had my sh!t together a long time ago. I don’t know. All I know is that I have a big studio and a comfortable situation in which I can find my center again. That process has begun. I think I can start to walk around with my head up again. That’s a big step.
Listening to:
Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams
Cory Heart - Sunglasses at Night
They Might Be Giants - Ana Ng
Hall and Oates - Private Eyes
Speaking of which, there has been some request for my photo with Hall and Oates recently. It fell off my blog a while ago, but here’s a new link to it.
I’ve been battling with the cigs, but recently a decent victory. Haven’t smoked since the turn of the new year. Still a tedious prospect.
I visited the Portland art museum yesterday. Admission was free for MLK day. I enjoyed the Andre Derain and the Cezanne. I did a copy of this Derain when I was in Bill’s class. I didn’t know much about his work at the time. I copied it because it’s a portrait of Matisse. Having seen a couple of nice pieces of his at the Portland museum (of all places) I realize that I had better examine more of his work online and at the library.
Also, I’ve been interested in local artist Louis Bunce. More on that later.
I’m running a dork story in a play-by-post format over at dndonlinegames.com. My name there is “imp”. Several of my friends, scattered all over the country, are running characters in that story.
Well back to painting…
Just moved acorss town. Not completely set up yet. this new location has a little bit more room for a studio. I hope to start three new big ones. We’ll see how that turns out. My holidays were rather dull. I’m looking forward to spring, and hopefully a showing somewhere. For now, back to painting. Pictures of the new studio setup will posted as soon as I set it up. heh
