Once again, a nod to the late Bill Hicks

Wednesday, December 14th, 2005

Never to late to appreciate Bill Hicks.

Happy birthday Bill.

“Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves …. Here’s Tom with the weather.” -bill hicks

Who can take tomorrow
Dip it in a dream
Seperate the sorrow
And collect up all the cream?

Here’s a painting that I did for Dave a while ago. Still looks pretty good.

Many elements that I cut my teeth on in this painting form measured structural supports in the current work. Including stacked screens, continuous contours and discovered negative shapes. Go me, woo.

here's dirt's

And here’s another one that Dave has. Not a great photo unfortunately.

Here’s another shot. Also kind of crumby.

And for good measure, here’s that Wally portrait again.

Continuous contours and drawing through the forms play a much bigger role in this portrait than in the other two above. Many of the “discovered” negative shapes meet in strict right angles or at 45s. this is carried throughout mimicing the feel of the persian run on the floor across all of the surfaces.
