chris has gotten me turned on to functional programming as of late. i'm attracted to it for a few reasons, key among them are doing complex things elegantly and thinking in new ways. i've been using a lot of python lately, too, and so that's a natural fit, python lends itself well to toying around in FP.

some nice FP links:

Functional programming in the Java language, kind of gross but also interesting. look at the links to FP tools for java.
Functional programming in Python, Part 1, a good introduction.
Why Functional Programming Matters, the seminal paper by John Hughes on FP.
functional programming in the Tcl wiki. Tcl can do FP to a degree, but it gets pretty hairy pretty quickly. the language simply doesn't lend itself to the task very well.

uploaded and released stsh version 0.3.1, the simple systrace shell. no functional changes, added a manpage and cleaned up the code a wee bit.

tired of this error on openbsd? lint: cannot find llib-lc.ln ... according to Andreas Kahari, change how you call lint(1): $ lint -Cstsdc main.c. works for me, and found a few errors i introduced.
