Re: Need some kernels tested

pciide0 at pci0 dev 2 function 5 "SIS 5513 IDE" rev 0x00: 746: DMA,
channel 0 wired to compatility, channel 1 wired to compatility
isa_intr_establish: no MP mapping found
wd0 at pciide0 channel 0 drive 0: <WDC WD800LB-55DMA0>
wd0: 16-sector PIO, LBA48, 76319Mb, 156301488 sectors
wd0(pciide0:0:0): using PIO mode 4, Ultra DMA mode 5

... 8<...

wd0(pciide0:0:0): timeout
	type: ata
	c_bcount: 512
	c_skip: 0
wd0(pciide0:0:0): timeout
	type: ata
	c_bcount: 512
	c_skip: 0

If you're locking up here, it's worth trying to disable pciide0 from the kernel config:

boot -s
disable pciide*

I assume that will mean slower disks, but you might at least have a functional system to test out.
