Hello,
Since the last snapshots (a week before the 3.2 beta release), i can't
running X (launching startx) from a user's login, only root can do this.
following is a except from XFree86.0.log
----
(**) Option "Protocol" "wsmouse"
(**) Mouse1: Protocol: wsmouse
(**) Option "CorePointer"
(**) Mouse1: Core Pointer
(**) Option "Device" "/dev/wsmouse"
(EE) xf86OpenSerial: Cannot open device /dev/wsmouse
Permission denied.
(EE) Mouse1: cannot open input device
(EE) PreInit failed for input device "Mouse1"
(II) UnloadModule: "mouse"
(II) Keyboard "Keyboard1" handled by legacy driver
(WW) No core pointer registered
No core pointer
Fatal server error:
failed to initialize core devices
----
I modified the /dev/MAKEDEV wsmouse's entry and obviously with a chmod 770,
i can as user running 'startx' again.
I didn't tried all the combinations but it seems the server needs to write to
the driver ?
Any idea ?
Thank you.
