I believe this is a known issue with AIC-7899 if you have more than one
device connected.
I got a kernel panic today trying to install 3.1 on Dell 2650:

Stopped at _Debugger+0x4: leave
Same thing happens with 3.0
I can provide full log including output of 'trace' if anyone wants it.
