Need help with HDLC errors with Ricochet 128k on Novatel in NYC

Forgive me for reposting this, but I realized my subject line
needed some improvement...

I'm trying to bring up a Novatel Merlin 128k Wireless Modem for Ricochet
in New York City.  My ISP is Wireless Web Connect.

I seem to have PPP working.  I can ping hosts on the internet and telnet
into some.  But once I start putting out some real traffic I start
seeing:
