Secure alternatives to BIND?

It seems like BIND has a long history of having security holes in it.
I'm not saying that BIND is bad software and we shouldn't use it, but
I'm just wondering, are there some alternatives?  Just like Qmail and
some others are modern replacements for sendmail, with security as a
top design priority, I'm wondering if there are some modern
replacements for BIND.  Back when BIND was written, the Internet was a
kinder, gentler place, and so security wasn't a top design priority.

Please let me know if you know of some or have experience with some.
