strange Thinkpad hang

If I disable cardbus and upgrade apm.c to -current everything almost works
on my Thinkpad 240. But if I have my pc-card modem or Wavelan installed,
and I suspend and then resume, something very odd happens. I can run almost
any command (single user), but if I type "dmesg", when I get to the 'g' the
machine hangs hard and I have to cycle power. Typing a 'g' by itself
doesn't do it. This is so strange that I did it five times in a row just to
make sure.
If I don't have a pc-card inserted all is well. It doesn't matter whether I
use APM_DISABLE_INTERRUPTS=0 or not. When I resume I get four stray
interrupts.
Any ideas?
