OPENBSD_2_7 build problems

Jason and friends,

I'm having problems trying to do a make build with the stable cvs tree. I
ran the following commands.

1.  cvs checkout -r OPENBSD_2_7 -Pd
    Get the latest source.

2.  rm -rf /usr/obj
    Remove old objects.

3.  cd /usr/src && make obj
    Make obj directories in /usr/obj

4.  cd /usr/src && make build
    Build the tree

The build ran for a few hours then stoped with this error.

-----
===> gnu/usr.bin/bc
PATH="/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin"  INSTALL_PROGRAM="install -c
-s"  CC="cc" CFLAGS="-O2   " LDFLAGS=" -s "  sh
/usr/src/gnu/usr.bin/bc/configure --prefix=/usr --infodir=/usr/share/info
creating cache ./config.cache
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes
configure: error: source directory already configured; run make distclean
there first
*** Error code 1
Stop in /usr/src/gnu/usr.bin/bc (line 38 of /usr/src/gnu/usr.bin/bc/Makefile.bsd
-wrapper).
*** Error code 1

*** Error code 1
Stop in /usr/src/gnu.
*** Error code 1
Stop in /usr/src.
*** Error code 1
Stop in /usr/src (line 79 of Makefile).

If I do what it says and make `distclean` I get this result.

---
Making distclean in doc
/bin/sh: cd: /usr/src/gnu/usr.bin/bc/obj/doc - No such file or directory
*** Error code 1
Stop in /usr/src/gnu/usr.bin/bc (line 153 of
/usr/src/gnu/usr.bin/bc/Makefile).

Note: As far as i know there should be no reason why i should have to make
distclean if i rm'd /usr/obj before i started the build....

The next thing I tried was to cvs update my tree thinking maybe I had a
borked makefile but it failed again.

Is anyone haveing this problem? Can someone please help me verify if it's
the tree of my system?

Thanks in advance...
