Re: DNS problems with Solaris 2.5.1 (SVR4) binaries on Sparc IPX

I did so. It would not even run without this file. I copied
everything from openbsd/src/etc/etc.svr4 to the right places, made the
devices under /emul/svr4/dev and so forth. Simple Solaris binaries
work fine - just things that use DNS lookup are broken.

Artur Grabowski <art_(_at_)_stacken_(_dot_)_kth_(_dot_)_se> says that:

"Solaris has added a few strange syscalls that are hard to emulate and
they
are used by the name lookups. So anything from Solaris that uses DNS
looses."

If I find some more time, I intend to figure out exactly what isn't
working.

I did get the Netscape binary to run, slowly, on the IPX. Without DNS
lookups it's not very useful though.

Thanks!
