Log message:
Switch to modern (post 4.xBSD) world, with changes lying in my tree for a
lot of time:
- use getopt()
- use err() and warn()
- NBT_BAD instead of 126
- remove the vax-only parts since this is only build on i386. They can
come back later whenever necessary.
