xpdf-3.00 memory fault

hi, i installed xpdf-3.00 successfully (no errors whatsoever) on a
-current (well, maybe not up to the last minute...) i386 system, and
always get the following error when executing xpdf. tried the snapshot
package as well as compiling from ports, same result. is the port or my
system broken somehow?
