notable port changes:

- voids 2 of the patches

tested on i386, macppc, sparc, & sparc64 by talking to myself.  my
therapist said it is not healthy for me to be doing such things.  unless
my hallucinations extend to access_log, it was tested by other people
who were too lazy to let me know if the patch worked okay for them too.
