Yes, but don't overdo it.  Remind, don't annoy.

I don't know how other people work, but my (purposely chosen) setup
here expires messages after two weeks.  If I haven't dealt with it
in that time, it's gone.

Submissions aren't assigned to committers in any way, people just
pick up what they consider vaguely interesting and can test in their
environment.  It's a volunteer project after all.
