As you may know, we don't have a native CVSup port and instead run
the precompiled client executables for other platforms under
emulation. I've tried the FreeBSD and Linux versions of cvsupd on
i386, and for SunOS on sparc, respectively. Alas, all of these
crash immediately with a Modula-3 runtime error as soon as a
connection to the server daemon is established. The exact reason
is unclear.
I recently downloaded Polytechnique Montreal Modula-3 and took a
rough look a what is involved in porting it. There's a handy step
by step guide, which unfortunately reinforces my impression that
this task may be somewhat over my head.
