can't install any ports

Hello folks,

Today I downloaded a precompiled "bsd" kernel from the latest snapshot (not the
complete snapshot), and I have also updated my /usr/share/mk directory.
Besides that I have downloaded the latest ports collection....
When I try to "make install" something I get stuff like this (example here is
gimp, but it happened on every port I tried to compile):

?!_(_at_)_#$%_(_dot_)_  Why is this happening?  It used to work just fine :(
Can anyone give me some tips how to fix this?  Thanks.
