Problems with disklabel of ccd devices :: ccd1: error 22 on component 1

I have a problem on a Dell 2850 machine when trying to use ccd(4) devices.

On the exact same hardware, there isn't a problem.

On other ccd(4) devices on this machine there isn't a problem.

ccd1 consists of the following...

# grep ccd1 /etc/ccd.conf
ccd1	16	none	/dev/sd1g /dev/sd0g

And then I get the error...

# ccdconfig -C -v

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I've tried completely
reinstalling but still no go.
