Well, it seems that the important thing is that "AirPlus Extreme"
thing. There seem to be at least four different product lines: Air
DWL-G520+, AirPlus DWL-G520+, AirPlusG+ DWL-G520+ and AirPlusExtremeG
DWL-G520 (without a `+'). I got the latter, and I just returned it
to the store.

Yes, it was an ath(4), no the country code wasn't the big problem;
actually, I *did* change COUNTRYCODE to "de", and the regulatory
domain *has* been correct after this, but then the system just
stopped working (sometimes with a device timeout message, sometimes
silently).

That would be helpful -- if not for me (I'm done with D-Link devices),
but maybe for others. However, have a close look on the device's
label itself or on the package, since the "DWL G520" alone doesn't
say anything about what product you're actually using.
