What makes you think your X server is using 24 bit depth? Maybe it
is using another depth which is less advantaging to you. What does
/var/log/Xorg.0.log says?
You might have told the list the video card brand and model too.
And how did you created that config file?
Did you read /usr/X11R6/README ?
