Re: logging spamd to syslogd

Just to say that I think this has to do
with spamassasin.
I am NOT running spammassin and there is
somewhere the conflict.
Just a guess dont take my word for it.

I edited newsyslog again
but still no loggin in /var/log/spamd
from spamd.

Just a guess, did you add spamd redirect to your /etc/pf.conf? Examples in spamd(8) and pf.conf(5).

I work with pf and spamd over a year never tried to log from syslog though. Spamd working as usuall just the loging through syslogd fails. Of cource I created the file and the newsyslog.conf problem is ok now just an editor error or smth that left some line break somewhere i edited with vi and is ok now.

Spam just not login.

athena# cat /var/log/spamd
athena#
its just empty

Thanks all for the tries as I read
the good openbsd guys will fix this in current to
make spamd log by default to syslog
till then I have not the time to make things work
as I can go and without logging spamd for another 6 months as I did till now.

I wrote a document about this very topic:

http://www.vanhegan.net/content.php?content=document.spamd
