amd64 install hang

Hi all,

I'm trying to install 3.6 on my new AMD Sempron 2600+ (on an ASUS K8V SE
Deluxe motherboard) system and running into a little trouble.

If I try and install the amd64 port (from my official 3.6 CD set), I only
get this far:

>> OpenBSD/amd64 CDBOOT 1.00
boot> boot
booting cd0a:/3.6/amd64/bsd.rd: 1367360+289071+2200832+0+325000
[80+152592+88686]=0x839758
entry point at 0x1001e0 [7205c766, 34000004, 24448b12, 82e0a304]

... and that's all I get, even if I leave it for an hour. I've also tried
using a serial console ("boot> set tty com0") with similar results.

The current amd64 snapshot does the same thing.

If I try installing the i386 port, I get a successful boot and unpacking
of the tarballs, but then have problems in the final stages:

Here's a dmesg from the i386 install disk boot:
