floppyB is the "server" floppy and the only floppy with cac(4) on it.

Only PCI cac(4) adapters have been tested and known to actually work so far.
It doesn't surprise me that the EISA Smart Array adapters do not work as is.
mickey@ would probably be interested in helping you get this working.
