You have to provide more information, if you want real help.
Look at your ftpd logfiles, start ftpd with debugging on, use
tcpdump to do some traffic analyse....
Don't forget that ftp is a protocol which use a separate data tcp
port to actually transmit data. The port depends on the choosen ftp
mode, active or passive.
