Just to prevent a myth from being started; an Alpha with a VGA card
does have virtual consoles. [<ctrl><alt><F1>, <ctrl><alt><F2>, yep it does.]
On an alpha with a TGA card you would have been right but it is not the
only possible type of video card for an Alpha.
