apcupsd problems

Install went through without hitch (apcupsd-3.10.13 on OpenBSD 3.5)

There seems some communication, but not as expected:

went through the shutdown-tests, successfully; except the last one:

Thu May 20 23:28:39 SGT 2004 Power failure.
Thu May 20 23:28:40 SGT 2004 User logins prohibited
Thu May 20 23:28:46 SGT 2004 Running on UPS batteries.
Thu May 20 23:30:47 SGT 2004 Users requested to logoff.
Thu May 20 23:33:47 SGT 2004 Reached run time limit on batteries.
Thu May 20 23:33:47 SGT 2004 Initiating system shutdown!
Thu May 20 23:33:47 SGT 2004 apcupsd FATAL ERROR in apcipc.c at line 146
Mutex lock failure. ERR=Resource deadlock avoided
Thu May 20 23:33:47 SGT 2004 apcupsd error shutdown completed

The real shutdown does not take place.

 Furthermore, the
 /etc/rc.apcupsd status fails:

FATAL ERROR in apcaccess.c at line 278
tcp_open: cannot connect to server 0.0.0.0 on port 3551.
 ERR=Invalid argument

However, it is activated in the .conf:

 # EVENT data over the network (used by CGI programs).
 NETSERVER on
 #
 [...]
 # Additionally you can listen for a single IP like 192.168.10.1
 NISIP 0.0.0.0
 #
 [...]
 # and rebuild the cgi programs.
 NISPORT 3551

and the server seems to start:

May 20 23:38:22 server apcupsd[6460]: NIS server startup succeeded

 Any help appreciated !
