Helping Resolving fxp0: warning: SCB timed out on 3.4

I have an IBM T23 laptop. Recently, I plugged into a network to
discover the following...

fxp0: warning: SCB timed out

What I noticed is that irq 11 (see dmesg below) is shared, and
there's pointers to this being a problem in the archives. However,
when I try and disable

$ grep 'irq 11' /var/run/dmesg.boot

cbb0 at pci2 dev 0 function 0 "Texas Instruments PCI1420 PCI-CardBus" rev 0x00: irq 11
cbb1 at pci2 dev 0 function 1 "Texas Instruments PCI1420 PCI-CardBus" rev 0x00: irq 11
fxp0 at pci2 dev 8 function 0 "Intel PRO/100 VE" rev 0x41: irq 11, address 00:d0:59:33:3b:52
auich0 at pci0 dev 31 function 5 "Intel 82801CA/CAM AC97 Audio" rev 0x01: irq 11, ICH3 AC97

Taking a guess, I tried to disable auich0 using config ...

# config -e -o bsd.new /bsd
ukc> disable auich
 53 auich* disabled

However, rebooting into the new kernel hangs just after

pccom0 at isa0 port 0x3f8/8 irq 4: ns16550a, 16 byte fifo

Is there a different way to do this? I checked through archives but
nothing recent came up on google.

Thanks.
