Well it works because currently I'm using this on SUSE..

This was just on my checklist of things that I needed to find
workarounds for before installing OpenBSD. Everything else
looks like it should work without too many issues..

Oh, about the fan, I can't see why you need to control it but:
I need to manually turn it on (and leave it on) because of an
overheating problem. Either way, the fan shouldn't be an issue
anymore.
