hi
I just installed a new clean 3.4 i386 based box to handle DNS. Just
getting ready to create the DNS config files and I notice that not all
the folders in /var/named are owned by named:named !
is this correct ? I'm running other 3.4 boxes fine like this, and I
don't remember changing permissions/ownerships of any named folders, so
I guess that's just how it installed, but I am curious as to why ther
are these ownership and permission differences ?
drwxr-x--- /var/named/etc root:named
drwxr-xr-x /var/named/master root:wheel
drwxrwxr-x /var/named/slave root:named
why does master have wheel group ?
why does slave have named group and the write permission ?
can anyone shed any light ?
thanks
_scott
