Hi,
It is my first post on this mailing list, so hello to everyone :)
This is the problem I got when installing OpenBSD on Intel-based
machine with three SCSI disks.
OpenBSD 3.4 aic7xxx driver didn't detect geometry of two of my SCSI
disks. The message I got was "mode sense (4) returned nonsense: using
fictitious geometry" and my disks were assigned negative size.
I think this is a bug, because the same hardware worked well with Linux
2.4.23 aic7xxx driver and with FreeDOS-based scsitool bootdisk.
The SCSI controller I used was PCI AHA-2940S76, and the harddisks were
two HP C2490A-001. The problem disappeared after changing the
controller to AHA-2940U.
I hope that misc_(_at_)_openbsd_(_dot_)_org is good place to send this bug report.
If not, I would appreciate to be redirected to the proper forum.
Regards,
peter
