Re: group permission weirdness

Parent directories got the X bits?

ls -ld / /var /var/www /var/www/htdocs

If a parent dir had no X bits, I'd expect a absolute CD to fail
(which is what yur shell seems to be doing), but relative CDs to work.

Subject: group permission weirdness

Hi,

I am logged in as user `test`.

$ groupinfo deb3528
name deb3528
passwd *
gid 1020
members test

a `ls -al`:
drwxr-xr-x  25 root             daemon           512 Dec 10 15:54 .
drwxr-xr-x  14 root             daemon           512 Nov 20 17:52 ..
drwxr-x---  2  deb3528 		deb3528 	 512 Dec 10 15:54 testje

$ cd testje
sh: cd: /var/www/htdocs/testje - Permission denied

Any idea how this is possible??

Many thanks,
Wouter
