Hello,
I just purchased a D-Link DWL-520 wireless card for my 3.3 system. I made
sure to pick only from the list of compatible hardware at
http://www.openbsd.org/i386.html#hardware, since I figured compatibility
would be sketchy at best.
Much to my surprise, after putting it in my older (P-90) system, it was not
detected at bootup (dmesg has nothing even resembling it). After looking
through the archives, I found that, apparently, some DWL-520's work, and
others don't.
I'd like to try to figure out if my particular card is compatible, and if
it's not, if there are any tweaks (I saw something about firmware upgrades
in the archives) I could do to make it compatible. Here's as much info as
appears relevant from the box:
Model DWL-520
IEEE 802.11b compatible
2.4GHz, DSS
PCI 2.2
Reverse SMA Antenna Connector (the antenna comes out at a 90 degree angle)
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex Kirk
