*Sigh*

I should know better, but here goes anyway.

Clue #1: Upgrade to OpenBSD 3.3. It ships with Perl 5.8.0.

Clue #2: Get real friendly with CVS. Everything that's been done
to OpenBSD and perl between 2.9 and now is in there. Track down
the changes that have been made to both, and you'll know what
needs to be done. If this sounds suspiciously like upgrading to
OpenBSD 3.3, but piecemeal, that's because that's what the net
effect is.

Clue #3: If you can't or won't take the hints in clues #1 or #2,
pay somebody to do it for you. People here answer questions they
either happen to already know the answers to or find interesting
enough that the challenge is worth the effort to find the answer.
Anybody here who knows enough to graft a new Perl onto an old
OpenBSD is going to know better than to do so and won't find the
problem interesting enough to waste time on it.

Clue #4: When you ask for advice and get an answer you don't like,
haranguing those who gave you the advice isn't going to change the
advice they gave you. If our advice is so worthless to you, why do
you keep asking for it? Maybe somebody on a Perl list will be
interested--try bothering them for a while.

Cheers,

b&
