changing ip address

Hi All,

I installed OpenBSD on my box yesterday.  As soon
as I tried to ssh into it I realized my IP
address had changed -- which wasn't really a big
deal.  Then I just rebooted into Mandrake Linux. 
All of a sudden my IP address is back to what
it's always been.  Not only that, I seem to be
getting more bandwidth then with the OpenBSD
address.

Anybody know what's going on?
