i share my internet connection with my father and my sister, even if i
installed mozilla on their pc, and told them to use mozilla instead of
internet explorer, they still use internet explorer and now and then get
some spyware. on my sister's pc i installed zone alarm so she's a little
bit protected (since za catch some of the spyware trying to connect) but
i couldn't install it on my father pc since virusscan 7 complained it
wouldn't have worked with zone alarm. and obviously my father is that
kind of user that uses ie to visit the worst sites on the net and that
installs everything he can...
so i decided to "ban" the ip used by some spyware (at least the most
irritating ones, like toptext or gator) to prevent them using my
bandwidth for their stupid stuff.
i found a site with a list of these ip which seems updated costantly
enough, so i shouldn't have problems here, but since here there are a
lot of people more experienced than me i would really be happy to hear
your experiences, suggestions and so on. maybe i'm just wasting my time
or doing things wrong ;)
TIA
