Hello,
I am having problems with networking on a fresh install of OpenBSD 3.2.
I was able to install over ftp from my gateway 10.0.0.1 but now when I
log in I can only ping my localhost. The ip of my OpenBSD box is
10.0.0.4 and it has the same subnet mask as my gateway (255.255.255.0)
Here is the output of ping when I try get to my gateway:
# ping
PING 10.0.0.1 (10.0.0.1): 56 data bytes
ping: sendto: Host is down
My network card is a 3COM 3c509B which I believe is supported. The output
from dmesg is:
ep0 at isa0 port 0x310/16 irq 5: address 00:a0:24:81:36:eb, utp (default utp)
Some more infomation that may help:
# ifconfig ep0
ep0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
address: 00:a0:24:81:36:eb
media: Ethernet 10baseT
inet 10.0.0.4 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.0.0.255
inet6 fe80::2a0:24ff:fe81:36eb%ep0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1
Any ideas what might be happening here? I'm a little bit confused since
it worked for the ftp install but not after the first login.
Thanks,
Nigel
