Apologies if this is a 'stupid newbie' question or not enough details.
I'm working with email on OpenBSD 3.1 and have a good working
one with stock sendmail, UW Imap, php and squirrelmail running
just fine. Now I'm trying to get courier imap running on a test box,
have followed the instructions closely to build courier but when I
run 'courier start' nothing happens. No errors logged that I can find,
etc. Courier imap WILL startup and runs fine as does authdaemond.
So thought I would try qmail from a package at experimental.bug.it.
Followed instructions and same deal: qmail won't start, no errors,
no nothing. Is there something obvious I'm missing?
So far I have courier imap, authdaemond, stock sendmail, apache, php and
squirrelmail running but squirrelmail won't work, I suppose because
sendmail is using mailbox files and imap is using Maildirs. Mail at the
console still works. I want Maildirs with courier or qmail.
