I'm trying to setup an invisible bridge with OpenBSD 3.2. I only have to
public IP (via DHCP) so I need to use NAT for the LAN. Here is the
network diagram I'm trying to achieve.
cable modem --- OpenBSD Bridge --- Linksys NAT router --- switch - PCs
I have the bridge setup as best I know how but I can never get a link
light between the bridge internal NIC and the Linksys WAN port (this a
single port model w/o built in switch). If I take that same wire,
disconnect it from the bridge internal NIC and plug it into a switch
(useless obviously) it lights immediately so it isn't the NIC or the cat
5 wire.
Is this possible? Most everything bridge howto I've seen uses all public
IP addresses. Would I be better served dropping the Linksys and putting
a 3rd NIC on the bridge to do NAT? (It actually has a 3rd NIC in it
already). Any howto links would be much appreciated.
