Then you didn't read close enough.
Although "cd /usr; cvs checkout -P src" is mentioned, it says
two lines later:

The above will checkout the current source tree. ..
			    ^^^^^^^

So, start again, this time using the correct checkout, which is
described another two lines later on the same page.
