mysql bad install

Hello I tried to compile mysql, after it completed I couldn't find mysqld 
or startup.sh. I installed the application as root which I am thinking was my 
mistake. I tried to re-install but make doesn't do anything now when I try to 
launch it from /usr/ports/database/mysql.
