Hello folks, and thanks for the info. (should I be replying at top or bottom?)
My regards to Telent and mr grip...
I do appreciate the info although I have a feeling I need to at least add the
update for sshd in the passwd file and group file for priv separation.
Is this correct?
I have used this cvs command the first time for the cvs up to -stable as
seen in a post by Henning Brauer on/around 7-25-02:
# export CVSROOT=anoncvs_(_at_)_anoncvs_(_dot_)_ca_(_dot_)_openbsd_(_dot_)_org:/cvs
# export CVS_RSH=/usr/bin/ssh
# cd /usr
# cvs -q co -rOPENBSD_3_1 src/
I take it that I need to use a different cvs command to cvs up to the next
-stable version after the new errata and patches arrive. On top of the src
from the prior cvs.
# export CVSROOT=anoncvs_(_at_)_anoncvs_(_dot_)_ca_(_dot_)_openbsd_(_dot_)_org:/cvs
# export CVS_RSH=/usr/bin/ssh
# cd /usr
# cvs -q up -rOPENBSD_3_1 -Pd src/
Is this correct?
Is this the same process (more or less) with the ports tree, or is there
other considerations with the build directories of prior installed ports?
first cvs:
# cd /usr
# cvs -q co -rOPENBSD_3_1 ports/
and then to cvs up:
# cd /usr
# cvs -q up -rOPENBSD_3_1 -Pd ports/
Is this correct, and when should the -Pd be used or not used in these
processes?
Best regards,
-BR
