ftpd on another port

Hi all,
Yesterday I helped a friend install the 20020830 snapshot on his
server. Install went fine, a minor glitch with pf/nat (which refused
to nat to a device claiming I should specify an address family which
is not possible according to pf.conf(5)'s BNF .. i should investigate
this further, but the temporary fix was NATting to the IP address
(which doesn't change that often)) but the machine is running smoothly
now.
What we'd like is to start an ftp server on port 21021. This can
easily be accomplished by modifying /etc/services, but this has the
annoying side effect that all subsequent (client) ftp operations (eg
when downloading ports) also connect to this port- address on the
server which fails.
>From ftpd(8) :
ftpd is the Internet File Transfer Protocol server process. The server
uses the TCP protocol and listens at the port specified in the ``ftp''
service specification; see services(5).
(It does not seem configurable other then editing /etc/services)
Does anyone know of a nice solution other then modifying the ftpd
source or changing /etc/services before and after starting ftpd ? I'd
like to run the default ftpd and not install <insert favorite ftpd
here>.
TIA,
Paul 'WEiRD' de Weerd
