SASL - System Passwords

Does anyone have sasl using their system passwords to authenticate
relaying?

Playing with my Sendmail.conf file, and it seems pretty stuck on using
/etc/sasldb. I can change the entry in Sendmail.conf to anything and
it'll still use that file. I've restarted Sendmail after changes
(although that may not have been needed).

Error I get when I move sasldb is "user not found (-20) no secret in
database".
