Mounting a DVD-RAM

Hi all,

I'm trying to mount an MS-DOS filesystem from a DVD-RAM on my Alpha
(OpenBSD 3.1 GENERIC, fresh install). I created this filesystem a
while back on a Windows box and put some data on it I'd like to
recover. Unfortunately I can't seem to mount it, so I thought there
may be a problem with the drive.

Mounting the fs doesn't work :
# mount -t msdos /dev/cd3i /mnt
mount_msdos: /dev/cd3i on /mnt: not an MSDOS filesystem

So I just tried making a new filesystem on the flipside :

# newfs -S 2048 /dev/cd3c
newfs: /dev/cd3c: not a character-special device
Warning: 160 sector(s) in last cylinder unallocated
/dev/cd3c: 4875840 sectors in 12190 cylinders of 1 tracks, 400 sectors

cg 0: bad magic number
cg 0: bad magic number

Those last two lines indicate trouble and, indeed, I can't get the fs
to mount :

# mount /dev/cd3c /mnt
mount_ffs: /dev/cd3c on /mnt: Inappropriate file type or format

The drive works OK. That is, I can mount regular CD's in it :

# mount -t cd9660 /dev/cd3c /mnt && mount | grep cd3
/dev/cd3c on /mnt type cd9660 (local, read-only, norrip)

Relevant dmesg-line (full dmesg below) :
cd3 at scsibus1 targ 2 lun 0: <MATSHITA, PD-2 LF-D100, A108> SCSI2 5/cdrom removable

disklabel info from cd3 (side with MS-DOS partition) :

I'm afraid I'm out of luck, I get the following errors :
cd3(isp0:2:0): Check Condition on opcode 0x25
    SENSE KEY: Not Ready
 COMMAND INFO: 33554432 (0x2000000)

    SENSE KEY: Illegal Request
 COMMAND INFO: 67108864 (0x4000000)
     ASC/ASCQ: Incompatible Medium Installed

The 'Incompatible Medium Installed' isn't very promising. Can anyone
shed some light on this issue ? Will I ever be able to use this drive
with OpenBSD ? I've not found anything similar on Google/in the
archives..

TIA,

Paul 'WEiRD' de Weerd
