Morning all,
I've just replaced a commercial Unix operating system with OpenBSD on a
Compaq DL380, with 2 mirrored 18G SCSI drives. The machine has now crashed
3 times while extracting ports.tar.gz. My first suspicion would of course
be that there is a hardware problem with disc/controller, but I'm not
sure. Any ideas? The machine has been running just fine under BSD/OS,
before the upgrade, last uptime was > 300 days (not trying to imply that
the problem would be OpenBSD though..).
Following is a dmesg as well as ps and trace from ddb. Sorry for the long
email.
Thanks for any input.
Linus
Naively hoping to have this machine back online by monday morning, and
getting back home before my girlfriend goes to work...
