can i install to sparc ultra 5 using 3.0 cd, then ftp 3.1 tar balls?

Not sure I'll be able to figure out how to make a
bootable cd for my sparc ultra 5 box.  Am wondering if
I can use the 3.0 sparc64 cd that I purchased to begin
the install, then simply use ftp to grab to 3.1 tar
balls and finish up that way.  Is this a do-able or
advisable approach?  Thanks guys...
